The education system in Finland
Finland has a highly developed system of secondary and higher education, providing excellent opportunities for students worldwide. After graduation, foreign students have the right to obtain a residence permit to seek employment for up to two years.
Finnish employers often prefer workers who are already residing in Finland, and graduates of Finnish educational institutions benefit from a simplified process for obtaining a work permit.
Finnish Education in English
Fin Global Visas provides guidance on Finland’s education system, which includes one type of vocational secondary school and two types of higher education institutions: universities and universities of applied sciences (UAS). Study programs in English are available at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels.
Studying in English at Finnish universities is fee-based, but students performing well can receive grants covering part or all of the tuition fees. Meanwhile, studying at Finnish colleges in English remains free.
